Hype is mounting around Aidan Turner and his upcoming new role. Returning to our screens after his massive success on TV series Poldark.
Now, the Irish actor will play a leading role in new five-part series ‘The Suspect’, a psychological thriller.
It seems fans are in for a real treat, as the series is the new brainchild from the creators of both Line of Duty and Vigil.
Aidan will be playing the character of Joe O’Loughlin, who has been described as a devoted father and husband, a successful psychologist, and an ambitious writer – however, as expected, things aren’t always as perfect as they appear on the surface.
In the early episodes of the series, we will see the body of a young woman uncovered from a shallow grave in West London, with the character of Joe an aid to begin with and a suspect as time goes on and information unfolds.
Taking on the role of Joe, Aidan has said that he’s delighted to play such a gritty part, recently sharing:
“I am thrilled to be taking on the complex and demanding role of Joseph O’Loughlin, a man with so much to give but so much to lose, and a hidden darker side.”
It’s good news for Aidan both professionally and personally this year, as the star and his partner Caitlin Fitzgerald reportedly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy earlier this year.
