Nicky Byrne has said that it’s likely that Westlife will get back together sooner rather than later as it’s been almost 20 years since the band first formed.
The singer is now kept busy with his radio show on 2fm with Jenny Greene and presenting duties on Dancing with the Stars, however he does feel a reunion is on the horizon.
“I think a reunion is getting closer, next year we’re 20 years since we got together, the year after we’re 21,” he said on 2fm.
Before fans start saving up for tickets though, Nicky said we should wait until we hear it from either himself, Shane, Kian or Mark.
“One day it would be great to do it again but it’s not happening until you hear from the four of us, not management, not anyone else.”
The 39-year-old added that there is interest and proposals on the table for the guys to get back together.
“Now the offers are there and I think they’ll always be there which is nice to feel like that.
“Even leaving the financial element aside, it’s nice to get back onstage that would be brilliant, you can never relive those moments until you do them again.”
The star also slammed celebs who write tell-all books about their coworkers or bandmates.
After it was revealed that Mel B is set to write a book about her feuds with the other Spice Girls members, Nicky explained that he feels ‘some things are better left unsaid.’
“The thing about it is, everyone is armed with that missile. You would imagine [there is trust in Westlife] but maybe people in other bands would see it differently.
“If you spend 10 or 15 years living in each other’s pockets, do you really want someone telling not even dirt, even just like ‘Nicky farts in the morning’. Do you want that? Do people care?”
We won’t be holding out for that tell-all book by Nicky then!
