Ireland has become slightly obsessed with the fact that Matt Damon has been in lockdown here on the Emerald Isle.

The Bourne Identity star has been stranded (we use that word very loosely) since travel restrictions fell into place whilst he was filming a movie here. Having been spotted heading to the bookshop in Dalkey, one of the village’s cute little cafes, the sea and SuperValu, Matt has turned into quite the Dub.

Since being stuck in Dalkey Matt has been very vocal about how much he loves it here in Ireland, appearing on SPIN1038 to chat.

And with Bono as a close by neighbour and “trees, forests and oceans” within his two kilometre radius, Matt says he almost feels guilty for having such a good quarantine setup.

“So we feel guilty, we’ve got this kind of incredible set up in this place, it’s just absolutely gorgeous.”

Irish artist Shane Gillen managed to get the Hollywood star to sign a portrait he had sketched. The stunning picture is now being raffled off in aid of suicide prevention charity, Pieta House.

After six hours the picture raised almost €10k for the charity and the winner will be chosen in two weeks time. Shane shared; ” Eternally grateful to Matt, the crew, the guys who helped, everyone who’s supporting so far and all who have donated so far.”
