That time between Christmas and New Year is the best. This festive limbo where all you do is eat leftovers and permanently rummaging through a tin of sweets means all you want is to be comfortable.
There’s plenty of opportunity to dress up on Christmas Day and NYE, the middle bit is for optimum slouchy cosiness.
Despite this, it’s still nice to make a bit of an effort as we head out on Christmas walks and see family and friends so we’re taking inspo from some of our favourite influencers for what to wear.
Sporty Layers
With the launch of Rosie Connolly’s much anticpated clothing brand 4TH ARQ launching earlier this month, she’s giving us all a lesson in sporty layering.
Nobody styles streetwear quite like Rosie, and a comfy hoodie under a sporty bomber with runners is perfect for your daily walk with the family.
The Knitted Vest
The piece that’s been all over our Insta feeds this season is the knitted vest. Perhaps influenced by Harry Styles, it’s such an easy piece to style.
Throw it on over a skinny poloneck or an oversized shirt like Terrie McEvoy and your good to go with either jeans or leggings on your bottom half.
The Teddy Coat
Nothing looks more snuggly than an oversized teddy coat. Marianne from Smyth Sisters looks effortlessly chic in hers paired with comfy basics underneath.
This is an ideal piece to have in your wardrobe, as it makes switching your dressing gown for a coat that little bit easier.
Leather Leggings
Ok, you might want to hold off on these on Stephen’s Day (unless yours are very stretchy) but a pair of leather look leggings will be you hero piece over the Christmas holidays.
Whatever you throw on over the top is given a more elevated feel when paired with this material, whether it’s a sparkly top or a hoodie. Louise Cooney has the right idea pairing her with a a slouchy cardigan and boots.
Comfy Tracksuit
The outfit we’ll most be spotted in this Christmas is probably going to be a tracksuit. Now we know we’ve worn them to death this year with the multiple lockdowns, so we may treat ourself to a new one for the festive season.
We love Suzanne Jackson’s tie dye trakkie, and would definitely get lots of wear out of each piece worn separately.
The Knitted Dress
Lastly, a knitted dress is such a handy item to have for lazy days. They can be dressed up with tights and boots if you’re heading out, or are so comfy for wearing around the house with your slippers.
You’ll catch us wearing ours curled up on the sofa!
