Summer is over, but it’s not all that bad. It’s time for chai lattes, warm blankets and a good binge watch.
We’ve made a list of ten TV shows and movies to snuggle up and watch this season.
Gilmore Girls
Watching Gilmore Girls has pretty much become a rite of passage the second that September air comes in, and for good reason.
This feel good show about Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory is filled with autumn colours, relatable characters and is the perfect comfort show on a windy day.
When Harry Met Sally
If you’re looking for a romcom to watch this autumn, may we suggest the mother of romcoms herself, When Harry Met Sally.
This classic friends to lovers tale literally feels like a hug in a cable knit sweater!
Fantastic Mr Fox
What’s not to love about this colourful Wes Anderson animation?
With lovable animals and a surprisingly deep plot, you won’t regret watching this film with a hot chocolate and a warm cinnamon bun.
The Twilight Saga
We couldn’t make this list without including vampires of course, and name a more iconic vampire saga than Twilight.
This brooding, gloomy saga makes the perfect movies to watch on a rainy day. Are you team Jacob or team Edward?
Charmed
If you’re looking for something witchy this season, then Charmed is the show for you.
Three sisters discover that they are in fact witches, and the show follows each of them trying to navigate life after this shocking revelation.
You’ve Got Mail!
Another romcom starring the queen of autumn herself Meg Ryan, this movie is going to be on our minds for the next three months.
Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, not one but two bookshops, and it’s set in autumn. How much cozier could you possibly get?
Corpse Bride
This beautiful movie will give you your Tim Burton fix this season, packed with ghouls, ghosts and melodrama.
Scream
If you love Halloween but can’t handle a genuine horror film (don’t worry, you’re not alone) then why not check out the Scream movies this season?
The first Scream movie, which came out in 1996, is an unmissable classic, but now you’ve got another five of them to watch too! Perfect for a Halloween movie marathon.
Practical Magic
Two of our favourite things in the world: witches and Sandra Bullock.
It’s Practical Magic, a movie that follows two witch sisters as they fight against a curse that was put on their bloodline centuries ago.
Twin Peaks
Finally, if the supernatural isn’t your thing, why not watch the iconic murder mystery show Twin Peaks.
This series is just as spooky and grey as any other Halloween time show, but it’s not ghosts and vampires this bunch have to look out for, it’s their fellow humans.
