Ronan Keating has warned his fans to be mindful of accounts pretending to be him.

The singer took to Twitter to reveal that fakes accounts are being made with his name and that they are even trying to scam followers out of money.

The star is verified on both Twitter and Instagram and asked fans to watch out for the blue tick to make sure it’s him.

“Please report all the fake Insta accounts. Mine is RoKeating with a blue tick. These people are asking for money from followers,” he said.

Fans responded by thanking Ronan for the warning and sharing their own stories of the fake pages.

“They’re professional scammers. They set up accounts for lots of celebrities sending the same kind of DM’s to all their fans. They want money or iTunes/Amazon/etc gift cards,” one explained.

Some fans even admitted that they believed the accounts were really him.

“I got a request the other day. I was so happy as I love Boyzone and was really gutted about it being fake,” another follower said.
