Laura Whitmore has hit out at Late Late Show producers for featuring controversial guest Katie Hopkins on Friday night’s show after cancelling her own appearance last year.
Katie is one of Donald Trump’s most vocal supporters in the UK and she gave her take on why his message has resonated with American voters on the Friday night show – much to Laura’s disdain.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant was due to appear on The Late Late Show last year to talk about her child sponsorship with Plan Ireland, but producers of the show cut the segment last minute because they don’t like doing ‘charity pieces’.
After watching Katie’s appearance on the programme, Laura became enraged that someone with such controversial views could be featured on the show after her segment was cancelled.
She took to Twitter to expresser frustration saying:
“I was booked to go on the Late Late Show a year ago to talk about my child sponsorship with Plan Ireland (I’ve sponsored a little girl for six years in the Philippines).
“I had made a trip a month before to raise awareness of the children, specifically females, taken out of school too young to support their families.
“It was cancelled last minute and I was informed the charity had been told by the producer they don’t like doing those ‘charity pieces’.
“It angers me that certain other people who don’t need such a platform are given it to spread
negativity and let’s face it absolute nonsense.
“It leaves me with little faith in this world.”
