Rumours are rife about Rory McIlroy’s upcoming wedding to Erica Stoll, with recent reports suggesting that their nuptials will set them back an incredible €250,000.
The golfing pro and his American fiancé are set to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at Ashford Castle in Co Mayo next weekend – but their special day comes with a hefty price tag!
A report in today’s Irish Mail on Sunday reveals that a private cottage, located on the grounds of Ashford Castle in Co Mayo, is booked out for a week from today.
It’s estimated that a stay in the cottage costs up to €3,500 a night – or €25,000 for a week’s stay.
The report also suggests that the €4,000 a night presidential suite is also booked out.
Rory and Erica started dating three years ago, after the Co.Down native’s high-profile split with tennis star Karolina Wozniak.
Speaking about their impending nuptials last year, Rory said they want to keep it as private as possible.
“We want to keep it to ourselves as much as we possibly can,” he said.
“Erica loves Ireland. It’s very similar to the place where she grew up, in Rochester, upstate New York, where it’s also very green and leafy.”
