The wait is finally over as RTÉ announces all eleven stars taking the dance floor by storm on Ireland’s first ever Dancing with the Stars.
Yesterday it was confirmed that Fair City star Aoibhin Garrihy and Red Rock‘s Denise McCormack will be taking part in the show and now the rest of the star studded cast has been revealed.
Joining the soap actresses on the show will be comedian Des Bishop, sports commentator Des Cahill, former Operation Transformation doctor Dr.Eva Orsmond and HomeTown’s Dayl Cronin.
As expected, reporter Teresa Mannion, top model Thalia Heffernan, comedian Katherine Lynch, Big Brother breakout star Hughie Maughan and Kerry footballer Aidan O’Mahony will all be taking to the dance floor as well.
Thalia Heffernan is very excited to take part in the show, and is looking forward to people getting to know the real Thalia.
“I am so excited about participating in the show.” she said. “I get to test my mettle in other disciplines – I enjoy any chance to dance and this is an opportunity to show the real me.”
Teresa Mannion is grateful she’s been given the opportunity to take part in the show and she’s vowed to practice every day.
“Taking part in this show is truly a gift.” she said. “Learning to dance gets you out of your head and into the very essence of your being. The effort, the frustration, the repetition are all worth it for the sheer joy it brings. From now on I’m going to take a little time out to dance every day!”
Dancing with the Stars will air at 6.30pm Sunday 8th January.
