Last night, the O’Reilly Theatre at Belvedere College in Dublin hosted a star studded event, as Hollywood actress and comedian Amy Schumer sat down with director Judd Apartow for a Q&A session hosted by none other than Panti Bliss.
The Trainwreck star and movie’s director opened up to Ireland’s favorite drag queen in an hour long interview, and absolutely nothing was off limits!
Kicking things off in true Hollywood style, Amy was sure to mention her ties to Ireland… which just so happened to be her sex life!
“I’ve had a lot of sex in my life. 80 per cent of those were Irish people. Don’t applaud that. You know what that means,” she joked.
Amy went on to discuss the shortage of funny females in America, but noted that Maeve Higgins, an Irish comedian who is now based in New York, is exceptional.
“I think people want funny women. Any chick that has an inkling of a desire to try it, should, because there is a shortage. I love comics that come from here. Maeve Higgins, I’m sorry, but we’re keeping her. And we’ll send her back for holidays,” she said.
And finally, the comedian went on to share some life advice with Panti and everyone in the audience: “Love yourself like you’re your own mother”, before continuing, “because I know you’ve all had shitty mothers.”
Trainwreck premieres tonight at The Savoy Cinema.
