Glenda Gilson has revealed that October was a magical, but very stressful time for her and husband Rob MacNaughton.

The Xpose presenter welcomed her first child Bobby in October when he arrived two weeks early and she was thankfully in the right place at the right time for his early arrival.

“We had just moved house, we had loads going on, I had just finished work that day and I went to the Coombe for a checkup and my waters from in the carpark!” she told VIP Magazine.

The star revealed that thankfully everything went well with the labour.

“I literally just went into labour, and I was in labour for twenty-two minutes which was bizarre, but Bobby came out lovely and healthy and fabulous and now I’m a mammy and I can’t get over it,” she added.

“I don’t think anything ever prepares you for it, especially with your first, I know you carry and child for nine or ten months but then they hand the baby to you and you think ‘Oh my god this child is depending on me!”

The 36-year-old described being a new mum as ‘fabulous but overwhelming.’

Glenda explained that the couple moved into a new house together just before Bobby was born and that they planned to be more organised for his arrival.

“We had the time off, the two of us were going to get ready and get stuck into the big move. But I don’t know what I was thinking because I couldn’t lift anything anyway I was just pointing,” she laughed.

“They say the two most stressful things in life are having a baby and moving house and I decided to do them at the same time!”

Glenda first announced that she was expecting her first child back in April and says it’s been a rollercoaster year.

“It’s been whirlwind and long if that makes sense, obviously the excitement of becoming pregnant and knowing that we were going to have a baby was absolutely fabulous, but I was kind of sick throughout it so it was a bit lousy!” she told us at the Virgin Media Television Spring launch.

“I felt like I was annoying people in work, we work a lot with the camera crew more so than with each other and two of the cameramen, Ronan and Ger would be trying to cover me as I sat on the curb and puked. This went on for months, I’d ring them and go ‘sorry lads I’m just at the side of the road puking and I’ll be there in a minute,’ and six months on it was still going on and they were like ‘Glenda what’s the story here!’ I was just sick for the whole thing!” she recalled.

“Not to keep moaning about it, but it was kind of drawn out and then Bobby arrived two weeks early!”

Despite all the business of 2018 Glenda says that while it was a little stressful, it’s an exciting new chapter.

“No, it was fab! It was lovely because it’s all a new experience, and myself and my husband became closer and it’s just all exciting.

“Even though I was really sick and everything it was really exciting, and then when Bobby arrived it’s just like every day we are just staring into the crib at him 24/7,” she gushed.
