What’s in a name!? We look back on the most unusual celebrity baby names

Two Irish celebrity couples welcomed new bundles of joy over the past week – and their choice of baby names have raised a few eyebrows.

Gordon D’Arcy and Aoife Cogan revealed that they named their daughter Soleil, the French word for sun, while Kian Egan and Jodi Albert named their second son Zeke, who will be big brother to the equally unusually-named Koa.

This inspired VIP Towers to take a look at the other celebrities who have named their kids all kinds of weird and wonderful things.

Virginia and her husband Kaste Dahl called their son Thor – although there have been no reports of super-human strength as of yet. If the couple decide to have another boy, we are seriously crossing our fingers that they name him Loki…

Although we wouldn’t usually approve of naming a child after a herb – bar Rosemary – we think Samantha’s choice of Sage for her little girl is quite sweet.

The Westlife star and his wife Georgina Ahern went very American when naming their twins, Jay and Rocco. They called their little girl Gia, an Italian baby name.

The 50 Shades star chose the unusual Dulcie for his daughter, a name which is most often heard in Australia.

The Boomtown Rats frontman and his late wife Paula Yates were the originals in picking unheard of baby names. They called their daughters Peaches Honeyblossom, Pixie and Fifi Trixabelle. The sisters also have a half-sibling, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily.
