Boxer Kenny Egan may have won an Olympic silver medal in 2008, but it seems the birth of his little girl has become his proudest moment to date.
The Dubliner, now a Fine Gael councillor, has showed off his new baby daughter Kate, and it’s clear he’s besotted already with his bundle of joy.
Taking to Twitter, Kenny posted a seriously sweet black and white photo of dad and daughter, making sure to thank his “amazing” fiancee Karen O’Sullivan.

“9lb5 baby Kate welcomed into the world at 5.15am. Well done @Karen__Sullivan. You are amazing,” he wrote. “Thank you all so much for the well wishes, mammy and baby are doing really well. #parenthood”
Baby Kate is the couple’s first child, which follows from their engagement last December. At the time, a stunned Karen, who had been dating Kenny for seven years before he got down on one knee, posted: ‘Absolutely shocked, can’t believe I’m engaged, what a lovely Xmas pressie!”
The pair are expected to tie the knot next year, and who knows – little Kate could even be a flower girl for the ceremony! Massive congratulations, you two!
