GAA star Declan Hannon and DJ Louise Cantillion have revealed although it can be tough at times, the pair seem to have found the perfect work-life balance.
The couple, who have been together for the last seven years, make sure to find time to keep their romance alive – regardless of how busy things become in their professional life.
Last month, Declan, lifted the Liam MacCarthy cup, as Limerick won the hurling All Ireland in Croke Park, following years of demanding and gruelling training routines.
Describing that moment, he told VIP Magazine “It was surreal, but amazing.”
His beautiful other half, radio DJ Louise Cantillion, has been by his side through thick and thin, and takes pride in his focus and work ethic – even though it means they might not get to see each other as much as they’d like.
“I’m so proud. It’s so well deserved,” she said of his win.
“Declan is so hard working and his determination over the past seven or eight years has been inspirational to watch, and it’s been very emotional seeing all this happen.
“It’s full on; it’s seven days a week. You don’t have time for a social life, it takes over.
“We’ve both got very busy lives so we’ve always had to make do of the time we have together.”
And this is something the pair are well used to!
“We started going out at 18 when we were going to college. I was in Cork and Declan was in Limerick, so we’d only really see each other for a few hours at a time,” she told us.
“We’d have to plan ahead if we wanted to go somewhere, but it always worked so well because we’ve always supported each other.”
