Katie Taylor made a young fan very happy during open workouts in a sports shop in New York.
Katie was taking part in the event in Modell’s in Brooklyn when she stopped to chat to a young fan.
The Bray native invited the young girl to do some sparring, to which the eleven-year-old said: “Are you serious?”.
The 31-year-old champ then places gloves on the young girl who looks delighted.
Young Jesslyn Silva had previously caught Katie’s eye on social media with her impressive boxing skills.
Katie joked that she was glad she’s “not fighting her on Saturday!”.
Yesterday it was announced that Katie will be fighting Jasmine Clarkson on Saturday night for her US pro debut.
Speaking to FightHype the boxer said she loves being able to inspire young girls like Jesslyne.
“I’ve known about Jesslyn for a long time now,” she said.
“I’ve seen videos of her on Instagram. She’s absolutely fantastic, definitely a future star for sure.
“I was delighted to see her here today. I just wanted everyone see how great she was.”
