Sharon Ni Bheolain is set to step away from the Six One News later this year.
The top broadcaster will be finishing up on the show in December, before moving to a new role in RTE.
Sharon will present the Nine O’Clock News in rotation with Eileen Dunne.
As well as this, she will now front Crimecall too.
The news of her departure comes just after Bryan Dobson presented his final segment of the RTE’s Six One last night.
In an emotional goodbye, he said, “It’s been wonderful working with you and everyone on the programme; now and over the years. It’s been a blast! It really has been fantastic.
“I hate to go, but I’m afraid I have to leave.”
