Ruth O’Neill announced today that she is leaving Xpose after less than a year at the show. The 29-year-old has enjoyed her time at TV3 but is ready to move on to something new.
Dubliner Ruth, returned from working in Los Angeles to cover for Karen Koster while she went on maternity leave last year. However, her contract was extended in September, the same time that Lisa Cannon and Peter O’Riordan were axed from the show.
Speaking to the Irish Sun Ruth explained her decision to exit the show, “I want to stress this is completely my own decision. I handed in my notice. I just feel it’s time to move on and keep developing my skills more.”
Although she states that this wasn’t a factor in her decision making, Ruth is dating a man from London and perhaps not being tied to Ireland would make their relationship easier.
“We’ve only been dating for a few months. Obviously it would be nice not to have to jump on a plane to see someone but I could be heading back to America too so that’s not any part in my decision.
“Xpose is such a busy job. It’s such a small team you learn loads. I was at New York Fashion week twice, Paris Fashion Week, the BBC Music Awards. It’s been an incredible year,” she said.
