Ruth Negga’s ex-fiancé, Tadgh Murphy has revealed he is over the moon that she’s been nominated for an Oscar.
The Irish-Ehthipian actress has received nothing but praise since she was short-listed for the coveted Best Actress award for her portrayal of Mildred Loving in Loving – and it seems not even an ex can tarnish her impeccable reputation.
Tadhg and Ruth first started dating while they were studying drama together in Trinity College Dublin, and they got engaged several years after graduating.
Although their romance came to an end shortly after the engagement, the pair have remained close friends and fellow actor Tadhg couldn’t be happier that Ruth’s outstanding talent has been recognised.
“Ruth is amazing, she is f**king phenomenal and I was over the moon when I heard she had been nominated,” he told the Irish Independent.
“She so deserves it. She is an incredible actress.”
Ruth will be attending Sunday night’s award ceremony with partner of six years Dominic Cooper.
