RTE weather woman Joanna Donnelly has revealed that she suffered several miscarriages after conceiving her child through IVF.

The beauty, who was widely praised for her extensive coverage of some of the harshest weather conditions that hit the country last year – has opened up about the difficult times herself and her husband went through when trying to have a second child.

“We already had Nicci so we just assumed that we would have another baby,” Joanna told RSVP.

“We tried the normal way and it didn’t work, so I went to the gynaecologist and they prescribed Clomid and HGC shots. They said ‘if that doesn’t work then let’s try IUI’.

“You don’t just go from A-Z, you go through the B,C,D beforehand.

“I kept falling pregnant but then I would lose the baby at various stages, mostly very early in the pregnancy,” she said.

Joanna and her husband Harm Luijkx, now have three beautiful children, after conceiving their second Tobias through IVF before welcoming their youngest son Casper.

We love Joanna for speaking out on such a heartbreaking issue!
