Rosie Connolly has opened up about losing her dad when she was 18-years-old.

The top blogger’s parents separated when she was a teen but she remained close to her mum and her dad.

Rosie lost her father in devastating circumstances when his body was found at sea after he went missing.

Peter lived in Clontarf and often went walking along the sea, and was missing for 24-hours when a retired member of the RNLI found the body in Dun Laoghaire.

“We are blessed that we got Dad’s body back,” Rosie told Independent.ie.

“If we hadn’t, we might never have known what happened to him, which would be real torment. At least we could see him and hold his hand in the funeral home, because it’s so important when you’re grieving to be able to say goodbye.”

Rosie is also incredibly close with her step-father Billy, who married Rosie’s mum in 2010.

“Billy has broken down the barriers about blood making a family,” she explained.

“He has been a better dad to me than some people’s biological fathers are, and is more of a grandfather to Harry than anyone else could possibly be.”

Rosie explained that she feels blessed to have three parents who care for her.
