Rick O’Shea has shared a heartfelt tribute to Larry Gogan, ahead of his departure from 2FM.
The broadcasting legend has decided to leave the channel after 40 years, to work on their digital station, RTE Gold.
Larry will be hosting a segment weekdays from 1pm.
Rick, who also works on RTE Gold, took to social media to share his admiration for the presenter.
“Simply put Larry is the greatest Irish radio presenter,” he said.
“The consummate professional, always prepared yet effortless, the guy all of us who have followed him want to emulate.
“A man who has no ego about his own greatness and would never use 100 words where 10 would do.
“And this is crucial – I’ve never met a single person with the slightest bad word about him. None.
“He is a man who even now is passionate about his job and the music he plays. I want to be Larry Gogan when I grow up.”
Larry’s final broadcast aired today at 3pm.
