Lucie Donlan has opened up about her friendship with Longford lass Maura Higgins, admitting that while they didn’t get off to the best start, they’re great friends now.
The pair grew incredibly close over the last few weeks in the Love Island villa, and turning to each other for advice when things got tough.
“It took me a while to trust Maura but now she’s my best friend in the villa,” said Lucie.
“Maura was amazing. I really looked up to her because she’s a bit older than me but is into the same things as me.
“She came into the villa and just got me. She really supported me through everything.”
Meanwhile, following his split from Amy Hart last week, Maura and Curtis have been getting to know each other a little more, after she revealed her feelings for the Irish dancer.
Lucie reckons it’s only a matter of time before the pair get together, as Maura has been talking about him since day one.
“She told me on the day after she entered the villa that she liked him. She didn’t want to act on it because of Amy,” she said.
“I said my lips are sealed. I told her I would support her. I said to her, ‘If every guy was single in here, who would you pick?’ and she said Curtis. I knew that from the beginning.”
