This weekend we’ve been gifted with two extra days off, summer-like weather and the added bonus of guilt free chocolate consumption – so it’s only right that we make the most of it!

Carton House Most Stylish Lady competition at the Boylesports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse is taking place this Easter Monday, April 17th – and it’s an event not to be missed for all you fashion lovers! Irish TV broadcaster and style icon, Jenny Buckley, will judge this year’s competition. The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Pomp and Splendour’ and invites competitors to embrace the ceremonial splendour of race day!

The winner will win a luxurious overnight stay in the Presidential Suite at Carton House before jetting off to enjoy two night’s bed, breakfast and evening meal in a hotel in the prosecco region of Italy, in conjunction with Eno wines. Ladies hoping to vie for the title can register at the Carton House Most Stylish Lady marquee beside the parade ring in Fairyhouse, from 12 noon on Easter Monday.

We here at VIP are huge fans of SABA, so if you’re looking to expand your taste palette, why not head along to their Baggot Street or Claredon Street restaurants and indulge yourself with some delicious Thai and Vietnamese dishes?

To entice you even further, Saba is currently offering a dedicated Thai New Year menu, running from April 13th – April 17th. The four-person menu (€38.95 pp) will include delicious starters such as Thod Man Pla; minced fish cakes with green beans in a red curry paste and kaffir lime leaves, with Thai sweet basil, and main courses include Goong Maeman Kratiem Prik Thai; stir fried blue river prawns with garlic, pepper and broccoli. Trust us, it’s delish!

Saba opens from 12pm until late, seven days a week.

Whether you’re looking to keep your kids entertained this long weekend, or are a child at heart yourself, the Cadbury Easter Egg hunt is bound to be a bit hit for all ages! Merrion Square is being transformed into a chocolate lovers paradise this this Friday April 14th and Saturday April 15th.

There’ll be music workshops, face painting, a petting zoo and more. Everyone will receive an easter egg once they finish the trail – so you won’t leave disappointed!

Ladies luncheon in Mike O’Grady’s Lime Restaurant, Galway

The Galway Rape Crisis centre is hosting its first ladies luncheon in Mike O’Grady’s Lime Restaurant in Galway – and it’s a day out you won’t want to miss!

Not only will you get to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of Galway’s most popular restaurants, there will also be a fashion show, auction and a competition for the best dressed – which will be judged by VIP’s very own Bianca Luykx! You’ll also see a number of famous faces at the event, as Jenny Buckley is mc-ing the whole event, while, Sharon Shannon will be in attendance and some of the Connacht rugby team will be their strutting their stuff on the catwalk!

You’re guaranteed a fun filled day out all in aid of a great cause – what more could you want? Although the event isn’t taking place until May 5th, we thought it best to let you know know, as tickets are selling fast – so  we advise you to buy yours ASAP! Tickets are available by contacting any of the GRCC committee or through their website.
