Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham has revealed that the hit show is almost finished filming their eighth and final season.

The Irish man plays Davos Seaworth in the HBO fan favourite, and is hinting at the scenes wrapping up for good.

Fans are expecting the show to hit our screens sometime in 2019, but with no official release date confirmed as of yet, the Dublin man’s latest words have us excited for an earlier than expected premiere.

“We are very, very close to finishing the entire thing… I’m very close to getting rid of the beard,” he jokingly told Independent.ie.

“I’m going to, what’s known in the trade as ‘decompress’, so I’m going to do nothing for the summer, and then of course I’m going to start panicking that I’ll never work again, and then we’ll see what happens.”

Liam previously revealed that his “ambition was to get to the last season and now I’ve got to the last season, I’ve got to get to the last episode.”

Masquerade and Spectacle Launch at Number Twenty Two

HBO boss Casey Bloys recently confirmed that they will be filming multiple endings to the show to ensure no spoilers are released.

I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens,” Casey revealed.

“You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

We can’t wait for Season eight to hit our screens!
