Laura Whitmore has been hard at work this week, gearing up for her first dance of the competition on the current series BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite just shining her dancing shoes, the Bray native has just confirmed that audiences will see her showcase her acting talent very soon, and is headed for the stage after her time on Strictly.

The 31-year-old has landed the role of mortuary assistant Cleo in Not Dead Enough, a thriller based on the novel by Peter James, and will be taking to the stage in Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre next year.

Speaking to the Herald Laura said that she’s no stranger to the stage and has been waiting for the right time to return to acting.

“I studied drama and played some great roles, including Lady Macbeth and Annie in All My Sons.

“I have been waiting a long time to return to acting and for a great role like this to come along, so I can’t wait to get on stage in Dublin with Not Dead Enough,” she said.

Not Dead Enough will hit the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre 18th – 22nd April 2017.

We can’t wait to see it!
