As the feud between Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris and Katy Perry continues to mount, Jedward have offered their superstar pal, some words of encouragement.
The Irish twins met Taylor in Dublin five years ago, and it seems they’re never one to forget a friendly face. The boys took to social media to defend her, following the drama which kicked off between Taylor, Calvin and Katy yesterday afternoon.
Since their break-up a number of weeks ago, Taylor and Calvin haven’t been on the best of terms, but things came to blows as Calvin apparently denied her involved on a recent single, This Is What You Came For during an interview with Ryan Secrest.
Yesterday evening, Calvin went on to tweet, and confirm that she did in fact write some lyrics, and that she sang “on a little bit of it too.”
He continued, “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make me look bad at this stage. I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship, you should focus on that instead of t trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do. I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC, but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of your life because you’ve earned a great one.”
Katy Perry, who Taylor has also been feuding with for a number of years, weighed in on the drama, siding with Calvin and saying, “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”
Jedward aren’t happy with everyone ganging up on Taylor, and have decided to stand up for her.
Taking to Twitter, the boys said, “People should be Giving Taylor Swift respect for being such a strong woman in a world thats full of male egos. It’s not fair Taylor is criticized for writing songs from a honest perspective when other singers just sing about twerking etc. Keep writing your signature songs Taylor, your genuine lyrics ring clear to so many people.
“Continue to get your love story back on track Taylor with Tom you don’t need anyones approval to do whats right for you. All of Taylor’s ex’s should just play down their armour & weapons & accept she’s a Goddess standing strong,who know’s what she wants. Keep your creativity flowing Taylor and never stop dreaming your wildest dreams.
“All the misconceptions about Taylor are stupid and created by people with no respect she’s a lot more then whats put out there. Keep listening to your dearest friends Taylor cause they know you best and stay away from the tangled web of bad blood. It’s always Taylor who’s the first to raise and lend a helping hand when there is problem’s in the music industry like what hero. Shake it off”
