James Kavanagh has opened up about his relationship with his brother.

The Snapchat star’s sibling is coach John Kavanagh, best known for training Conor McGregor, and James exclusively told VIP that the pair have grown closer in more recent years.

“We actually weren’t close growing up, we only really got close when I turned 21 or 22 and I started to mature.

“He’s 41 and I’m 28, so there’s a bit of a gap!” he explained, joking that he was ‘the mistake’.

“Me and my brother have gotten so close in the last five years, any time either of us are out in town we’ll ring each other, and be like ‘are you out’ so we can meet up and party!”

John has been in the US working with The Notorious for his upcoming fight against Floyd Mayweather this Saturday.

“I do miss him, he’s been in Vegas for the past three months with Conor, so I haven’t see him in quite a while.

“He’s back in September so we’ll have a night out!”

James added that wanted to head over to the fight, but his upcoming cookbook, which he put together with his boyfriend William Murray, is ‘taking over his social life’.

“I was planning on going over, but our cookbook shoot is running at the same time.

“So what we usually do, we go to my parents local, the Glenside, and they shut it down, and we have friends and family and we’ll all get together and watch the fight.”

As well as keeping busy with his cookbook, James is taking part in Visa #TapIntoIreland road trip across Ireland, along with Doireann Garrihy, Pat Divilly, Rob Kenny and Anouska. It kicks off on Thursday, when they document the amazing Irish experiences recommended by their followers. The only catch is, each adventure must cost less that €30, which they can pay for by tapping their Visa contactless card.
