Social media star and up and coming tv presenter James Patrice has spoken out about being an online role model to his thousands of followers.

James, who was crowned 2018’s Most Stylish Man in Ireland at the Peter Mark/VIP Style Awards back in April, has over 80,000 Instagram followers, is well known for his hilarious sketches featuring different characters, as well as his mother Fron and sister Vanessa.

The 28-year-old chatted to VIP this month about how he deals with having so many young people look up to him in many different ways.

“I’m very lucky to be in a position to have a voice where I can talk to my followers and offer advice on things that they may encounter in their lives,” James told VIP Magazine.

“It’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. I try not to be too crude on my channels as so many young people follow me, but I always try to be myself and have the craic – sure you have to have a laugh sometimes.

“I’ve gotten many messages from people online, and out and about, who have said that things like being so open about my struggles with my weight has inspired them to take charge of their own situations and ‘keep her lit’, and that’s an incredible feeling.

“Someone came up to me last week and said that I helped them to come out to their family because I just did my own thing didn’t let anybody stop me, and I couldn’t have been happier.

“I always say ‘Feck what anyone else thinks’!

James is an ambassador for St.Patrick’s Mental Health Services new campaign ‘A single step leads to the biggest change’.
