It’s been four years since Glenda Gilson and Rob MacNaughton tied the knot, but who could forget that incredible day?

The Xpose star walked down the aisle in Kilrush, Co Clare before partying into the night at the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, surrounded by 200 of their closest friends and family.

“We had an absolutely brilliant day. It was even better than expected. It was just magical from start to finish,” she exclusively told VIP Magazine.

For her big day, Glenda wore an incredible Vera Wang dress, paired with Jimmy Choo heels.

“I adore it,” she said of the gown.

“My mum and I were the only two people to see it before the wedding, but I was confident I had made the right choice.

“It might not have been what people were expecting, but I love it so much. It was such a joy to wear.”

The couple chose not to see each other on the morning of their nuptials, and while Rob couldn’t be with his beautiful bride-to-be, did send her a lavish gift.

“He texted me the night before, and then he texted me in the morning, and then he sent me a beautiful diamond necklace on the morning with a gorgeous card.

“I wasn’t right after reading it; it was so lovely. So, then of course, the next time I saw him was when I was walking down the aisle, which was mad. He was so emotional.”

She continued, “The minute we got to the alter, we were like two giddy goats – we couldn’t stop laughing.

“And as everyone told me, we kept kissing each other and we weren’t even married yet.

“We had such a laugh, and we had a gospel choir who were full on amazing, and they were singing and dancing, and Rob and I were having a bit of a dance.

“Do you know what,” she said with a giggle, “I’ve never enjoyed mass so much in my life. It was great.”

After the ceremony, the group moved onto the star-studded reception, where they boogied until the early hours of the morning.

The couple took to the stage for their first-dance, which was to Elton John’s Your Song.

“Everyone in the room knew it and were able to join in on the dance floor. That’s what we wanted,” she said.

Now, four years on, the couple are expecting their first child together.

“I feel very happy and lucky,” she previously told VIP Magazine. “It’s a very exciting time.”
