It’s no secret that Sarah Jessica parker and her husband Matthew Broderick are huge fans of our Emerald Isle – and now the Sex in the City star has revealed that she views Ireland as “home”.

This summer, the A-list couple will once again holiday in the North, one of their favourite spots to spend quality time as a family, according to the actress.

The glamourous star, known best for her role as Carrie Bradshaw on SATC, says she enjoys the humble surroundings of the Irish coutryside and the simplicity and quietness of holidaying here.

The couple are said to enjoy “a proper fry” and a traditional cuppa tea amongst other things when they are in Ireland.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, the New York native told the newspaper how close she feels to the country: “ It always feels like it’s a place that’s perhaps foolishly more private to us, and there’s a simplicity to the time that we spend there, and the people are so lovely. At this point it feels a bit like home, in some way.”

The Irish people are so welcoming to the Brodericks, infact, that locals do their bit to maintain the privacy of the couple and keep the press at bay while they are here. Matthew’s family are originally from Donegal so it only makes sense that the pair have such a strong connection to the area.

Speaking openly about her love for Ireland, Sarah Jessica was full of praise: “It’s just an exquisite, beautiful, relaxing, wonderful place for ourselves and for our children.

“We would be delighted to decamp to Ireland. Move the children, put them in school there, have tea every day, a proper fry.”
