Conor McGregor may be the talk of the town, but it’s his bodyguards who really caught people’s attention this weekend at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards.
The duo, named Rocky and Drago, didn’t leave Conor’s side throughout the night, whether it was during the award ceremony – where Dee took home the gong for most stylish newcomer – the meal or the fun filled after party at Copper Face Jacks.
A source has since told The Sun, that this is because he’s been targeted by a gunman and needs to be extra vigilant.
Conor recently received death threats when thugs got in touch via Twitter and said, “Be careful talking down on neighbourhoods, you don’t run sh*t here except the UFC. In the hood, we use guns not fists.”
The insider said, “Conor was really relaxed and in great humour but the bodyguards didn’t let him out of their sight for even a minute.
“Anyone who wanted a picture or a quick word with Conor had to go through the minders.
“He told people that he’d hired them because of death threats.”
