A group of Ireland fans were settling in to watch Ireland’s first match of the European championship last night when they got a surprising pizza delivery.
The group of ten mates were left gobsmacked when they answered the door to the pizza delivery guy, only to find football legend, Paul McGrath, on the doorstep with their Dominos!
One of the lads, Padraig Pendred, said that when the doorbell rang and it was none other than the sports star, they were left in shock. What a way to celebrate Ireland’s first game!
“I invited them over for some pre-match pizzas and when the doorbell rang, we all dived for the door. When they saw Paul with the pizzas, it was hilarious!” Padraig said.
Speaking at the delivery yesterday, the soccer hero said that the Euros is a time of celebration for the country and he was delighted to be part of this surprise for the fans.
“It’s time for celebration. People are thinking back to ’88 and ’90 and across the country there will be street parties to show our pride and support for the Irish team. This is such a great time for family and friends and so what better way to celebrate than with a Domino’s,” Paul said.
Dominos have launched a pizza legend called “Ooh Aah Paul Pizzahh” in honour of the soccer tournament. See what they did there?
