Irish hairdresser Gareth Bromell is the stylist behind Taylor Swift’s signature hair, and he’s revealed details about the experience of cutting her blonde locks into the “shag” style.
Limerick native Gareth said that he met the Never Getting Back Together singer at model Liberty Ross’s birthday party. They spoke about her new do, and then the hairdresser travelled to Taylor’s home to chop her tresses. They even took a selfie together!
Speaking to The Irish Sun Gareth said that Taylor wanted a change and that the shag is a more playful hairstyle, perfect for after a break-up!
“Taylor wanted a bit of a change with her fringe and her bangs.
“What’s really modern at the moment is the shag hairstyle, which is a heavy fringe chopped into at the ends with a bit of layering. That’s what Taylor and I talked about and that’s what I did for her.”
“The shag is even more playful as you don’t have to blow-dry the hair that much because it’s meant to be soft and flicky,” he said.
