Last night saw Irish singer Patrick James audition in front of the judges on ITV;’s X Factor.
The Dubliner, who previously won The Voice of Ireland, was told by judges Simon Cowell and Robbie Williams that they ‘weren’t feeling it’ and failed to get through to the next round.
After the show aired, viewers took to social media, unimpressed that the Irish man had not been treated well by the judges, and wasn’t afforded the opportunity of a second song, like many others had been.
Okay why were they so rude to the guy from Dublin? #XFactor

Since last night, Patrick has released a statement about the show and why he feels he wasn’t correctly represented.
“I’m sure most of you know that I went for X Factor and didn’t get through,” the Dubliner shared on social media.
“I want to just clear up a few things… I didn’t apply, I was asked to fly to London and audition in front of the judges within 36 hours of the phone call!
“X Factor was never really in my plans! I am quite happy working singing along as I am with Liberty Entertainment! I’m kicking myself now as I’m not happy with what they’ve shown and how they’ve shown it.
“I sang a song before the song they showed tonight and was stopped within three lines of the song. I’m not going to lie, my confidence has taken quite a knock and if I’ve learned anything it is to trust my gut instinct.
“But for now, I’m going to focus on the positive, my amazing family, friends and boyfriend.
“I’m forever grateful for all the support you have all shown me over the last few years. I love you all.”
Did you see Patrick’s audition? Was he treated fairly?
