Bláthnaid Treacy has opened up about planning her dream wedding after getting engaged last month.
Her musician boyfriend Charlie Mooney popped the question while they were on a trip to Mexico, where they attended Bláthnaid’s brother’s wedding.
“I am going to be a badass bride,” the 2fm star to VIP exclusively.
“The last thing I want is all the frills and ridiculousness.
“I want to just enjoy every minute of it and not get overwhelmed. And yes hopefully a summer wedding next year…although you never know we might just elope and run off to Vegas! [Laughs]”
Blathnaid is known for her effortlessly cool style, so naturally, we’re very excited to see the dress she chooses to walk down the aisle.
So how will she possibly choose what she’s going to wear?
“Such a nightmare,” she joked. “No but really. You know if you want to go into a bridal store you have to book an appointment? I didn’t know! I’ve never done this before. The first place I will go is Folkster bridal because I adore them.”

Weddings can be pricey as everyone knows, but does Blathnaid plan on splashing out for the big day?
“No. Oh my God, I am being so frugal about it. And the last thing I want is to be one of those brides up to ninety and not enjoying their day,” the presenter said.
“Obviously, there will be some things that we just can’t avoid but I wouldn’t be spending tens of thousands of euro. Once you start looking up weddings you’re like, ‘Wow weddings are expensive.’”
