“I am so incredibly thankful” Sile Seoige thought she’d never be a mother during cancer battle

Sile Seoige has opened up about how blessed she feels to be a mother after battling illness.

The TV presenter battled Thyroid cancer six years ago and says she never thought she’d be where she is today.

“I’m feeling incredibly lucky, I certainly didn’t think years ago this would be my life,” she told VIP.

The Galway woman went on to explain the traumatic period she spent in isolation while battling cancer.

“I was actually radioactive which is a bit weird, I had to be handed paper plates through a slot in the door, everything I brought into the room had to be left behind.”

Sile gave birth to Cathal five months ago and says she would never have believed she be so lucky.

“It was a week isolation with this treatment I had, it was a lot of time to think, but if someone had shown me a crystal ball of my future with where I’m living, who I’m spending my life with and my baby, I would have never believed it, I am so incredibly thankful for it, It’s incredible, so I feel very lucky.”

Sile launched Aldi’s Baby and Toddler event which returns to all stores nationwide on January 18th and gushed about life with baby Cathal.

“When they look up at you and give you one of those smiles, it’s just magic,” she said.

“Even when you have a broken night’s sleep and can barely function, they smile or gurgle at you just go ‘wow they are amazing'”.
