How to recreate Rosie Connolly’s stunning updo from last year’s Style Awards

With the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards just two weeks away, we’re looking back at some of last years best looks.

Team Peter Mark were on hand to make sure all of our guests looked and felt fab with gorgeous hair.

Star blogger Rosie went for the dramatic look this year, and we loved seeing her rock something different.

Rosie Connolly is a lady famous for her long, preened hair so when stylish Rachel Mannix created this beautiful up-style it was a fabulous surprise.

Rosie herself noted that for “someone who never wears her hair up” she was loving the fact that her hair looked a little different for a change.

Here’s how to get the look:

Rachel started by protecting Rosie’s hair from heat styling by spraying Redken’s Iron Shape throughout.

She then used the GHD creative curl wand, working through Rosie’s hair so that when she brushed out the waves she had enough texture and movement to help create the up-style.

Starting with a low ponytail, Rachel began building the beautiful shape around this using L’Oreal Ellenett to give it some stability and longevity.

When she was finished, she fixed the look in place using Redken’s Pure Force.

Rachel’s Top Tip: Have an anchor point. Normally this takes the form of a ponytail. Giving your up-style an anchor point will make it much easier to pin up your hair so that it will not fall down and ruin your evening as this will give you a place to pin each section safe in the knowledge it won’t come loose.

The 2019 Peter Mark VIP Style Awards is on April 26th in the Marker Hotel.

There’s still time to cast your votes for Ireland’s most fashionable celebs.
