“He categorically denies the allegation…” Al Porter breaks silence on groping claims

Many accusations have been made against the comedian

Comedian and former Today FM radio presenter, Al Porter has broken his silence amidst serious accusations made against him.

Regarding a claim made that the former host of Blind Dates Ireland groped a patient at St.Patrick’s Mental Health Services, his legal team has released a statement, saying that ” Al Porter is co- operating and will continue to do so fully with any inquiry by St Patrick’s as he categorically denies the allegation of criminal wrongdoing.”

In November last year, many allegations came out against the 25-year-old, which saw him step away from his presenting role at Today FM, his part in the Olympia Panto and also saw TV3 pull the remaining episodes of Blind Date from airing.

However, RTE Radio DJ Colm Hayes, who accompanied Al to the St Patricks Mental Health Services, where the alleged incident occurred in 2015, has spoken out in defence of the comedian, revealing that he never saw anything happen.

“I was with Al for those days and I never saw anything untoward happen,” Colm told The Sunday Mirror.

“I was with him quite a lot and we presented a two-hour show each day.

“When he was in my presence, in the lobby and taking photos, I saw nothing happen at all. I am willing to sign an affidavit of my evidence, if asked.”
