As August flies by, many of you may feel like you haven’t quite made the most of your summer.

However, there is plenty of incredible events and activities that you can head along to before September comes around.

With just over a week left in the month, we’ve got plenty of ideas to help you make the most of the rest of the summer.

Wicked! – until September 1st

Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two young women who first meet as sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The iconic show is set to finish its seven-week Irish run on September 1st which is the perfect excuse to book your tickets now for the last remaining shows.

Bushmills #BlackBushStories and Leatherwork event – Wednesday 29th August

Whiskey fans will adore this even which is part of the #BlackBushStories series.

This month Irish leatherworker, Jason Karayiannis, will host a hands-on workshop at Drury Buildings in Dublin on Wednesday 29th August in association with Bushmills Irish Whiskey Ambassador and acclaimed bartender, Paul Rocks.

The ‘Black Bush and Leatherwork’ interactive event will open with Paul delivering an educational tasting session on some of Bushmills’ best-loved whiskeys, sharing the history and heritage of the iconic Irish brand. Attendees will then have the opportunity to hear about Jason’s story and partake in a leatherwork masterclass where each guest will make and take home their own initialled leather coaster and bookmark. Specially-created Black Bush drinks will also be served throughout the evening.

As part of the collaboration, Jason has created a limited edition ‘Bushmills x Father’s Father’ leather hip flask made from a single piece of full grain vegetable tanned leather. Belfast’s Vital Festival – Saturday, August 25th 

If you’re looking for a dance-packed weekend of partying and – and you didn’t manage to secure Electric Picnic tickets – Belfast’s Vital Festival is the place for you.

The annual Vital Festival returns to Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields on Saturday 25th of August.

Taking to the main stage for what promises to be a phenomenal headline will be Martin Garrix, Steve Angello, Zara Larsson and LOOP.

 

 

Casa Bacardi at Electric Picnic – August 31st – September 2nd

From comedy to amazing food, to live podcasts and even alternative music stages, you certainly won’t be bored.

The award-winning Casa Bacardi stage is back this year, where Latin street-culture meets modern day legends of sound. Featuring a stellar line up of DJs throughout the weekend,Casa Bacardi offers festival goers the perfect location to soak up the party atmosphere across the weekend over The Original BACARDÍ Mojito cocktail.

Kicking off is DJ Melé Friday, 31st August followed by iconic house artists you won’t want to miss. Bringing the sold-out festival to a close on Sunday, 2nd September is disco-infused house master, Joey Negro entertaining the Stradbally crowd from 10pm with his extensive sounds of rare disco and classic house sets. Further live performances come in the form of electronic maestro Krafty Kuts from 8pm,and World Scratching Champion, DJ FLIP taking to the stage from 6pm. Top Irish DJ Kelly-Anne Byrne will be on hand to warm up the crowd, along with Electro DJ Duo, Modern Magic, The Jar’s DJ Jamie Byrne and Sax & Percussion DJs Riff Shop from 12pm.
