As the start of the weekend is upon us it’s the perfect time to make some plans for the next few days.

Galway Fringe Festival 15-30th of July

The popular Arts Festival kicks off this weekend in Galway. The festival features visual art, music, theatre, dance, literature, cabaret and exciting street spectacles. The free launch party takes place tonight in Compu B on William St. From Saturday onwards various plays and creative events will take place across the city for two weeks. Best of all most of the events are free or very cheap. You can check it out here.

Maeve Binchy and Famous Irish Writers Walk in Dalkey – June 1st – September 29th

If you’re looking to get out in the good weather and get some fresh air, the Irish Writers Walk in Dalkey is ideal.

Walk the magical path of Maeve Binchy in the Famous Irish Writers walk. The ‘Walk’ starts in the Writers’ Gallery at Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre.

From Dalkey Castle, amble along the streets, past Finnegans where Maeve’s photo hangs over the table she used to sit at. Walkers will enjoy snippets from the work of Maeve Binchy, James Joyce, GB Shaw, Hugh Leonard and Flann O’Brien, just for starters.

The walk will finish in the beautiful Maeve Binchy Memorial Garden in Dalkey Library where a mosaic to Maeve’s memory proudly stands.

The walk lasts just under one hour and is fully microphoned to the lead tour guide for ease of listening. More info here.

Nathan Carter Live at Iveagh Gardens – July 15th

Don’t miss the headline debut of country music singing sensation Nathan Carter this weekend in the beautiful Iveagh Gardens.

Following his forthcoming sold-out show at 3Arena, he’ll be taking to stage in one of Dublin’s best-kept secrets in green spaces to entertain you under the mild summer sky.

Temple Bar night Market – 10th May – 27th September

Evenings in Temple Bar truly come alive during the summer months when the art and craft night market pops up every Wednesday afternoon, allowing people to buy and browse until 8pm.
You can buy all sorts at this market – local crafters come along with their jewellery, textiles and impressive canvases, which they show off on Temple Bar’s cobbled streets.

The market is home stunning finds to laser-cut prints, cute stud earrings, ceramics and delicious artisan food. The perfect place to wander around and browse on a warm summers evening.

This summer you can enjoy a whole weekend dedicated specifically to the mighty chicken wing. With a street food market, hot wings challenge, live music and more, fans of the chicken wing can’t wait for this festival to return following its successful first year.
Get ready to take your pick from the many pop ups selling some of the tastiest chicken wings on the east coast, at 2017’s Wings Food Fest.
