In celebration of International Women’s Day RTE have decided to mark the occasion in a very special way. This Wednesday Fair City will air their first all-female episode.

The episode will be unique as it will see the women that feature on the popular soap, including Jenny Dixon, Clelia Murphy and Sorcha Furlong, come together for a lock in at Carrigstown local, McCoys. There’s set to be a lot of drama to keep viewers entertained, as feuds become heated and some will even be resolved.

Brigie de Courcy, executive producer of Fair City, revealed that the one-off episode has taken months of planning and she’s extremely excited for it to air this week.

“So we decided what better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than putting our Carrigstown ladies out front and centre in their very own episode.

“The programme has been months in the making – planning the storylines well in advance to ensure that all these characters collide on the same day.

“I really hope the audience at home will enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it,” she said.

We can’t wait to see it, this Wednesday on RTE One.
