Eoghan McDermott and Ryan Hennessy from Picture This have taken the plunge, opting for identical tattoos.
The duo promised each other a few months ago that they’d get matching ink – and followed up on that agreement yesterday.
“A giddy chat in Athy a few months ago led to a gentlemen’s agreement that I would get a tattoo to match Ryan’s Mdrn Lv on his tongue,” Eoghan said on social media.
“Myself and Ryan had a chat when we were down recording Ceol, where the lads wrote a couple of songs from the new album Mdrn Lv.
“Ryan’s got a load of tattoos and I’ve got a good few. I’ve got some lyrics from an Elbow song [on my arm].
“I love Elbow and I love Picture This so at that moment I said I’d be happy to etch my love for Picture This onto my skin. Now it’s happening.
“I really hope they are the next U2 and that their album doesn’t bomb – though I have every faith that it won’t,” he concluded with a laugh.
Yesterday afternoon, the band confirmed that the album would be out next February, and following that, they’ll be playing five nights in the 3Arena.
The gigs will take place between March 27th and 31st, with tickets beginning at €49.90.
