Our favourite tv couple, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford disagreed about what makes a marriage work while presenting This Morning.

The seasoned presenters have been married since 2010, but despite having tied the knot over six years ago, it appears tv’s golden couple still don’t agree on the secret to a long and happy marriage.

Today’s This Morning featured relationship therapists Kate and Harry Benson who wrote, What Mums Want and What Dads Need to Know, and they revealed that women want a friend more than anything else in a marriage.

Although Ruth agreed with the findings, Eamonn was adamant that attraction also plays a vital role in making a marriage work.

Eamonn thinks attraction is very important in a marriage.

When informed of the findings, the Irish presenter responded saying, “No that’s not it, I want someone I fancy as well!”

Once Harry confirmed the results again, Eamonn said, “I don’t agree, I don’t agree, don’t agree.”

Ruth disagreed with Eamonn and spoke out in support of the research.

“It was women saying that, maybe that’s what makes us different.” she said. “Woman are saying, ‘look, you need to help me look after the children, care about me and what I feel about things and then you have a happy life and a happy wife.'”

However, never one to be proven wrong, Eamonn responded saying, “Well do you know what, that’s an existence, that’s not a life. That’s an existence. That’s my view.”
