The members of the Cranberries have released an official statement following an inquest into the death of Dolores O’Riordan.

The lead singer passed away in January this year and until now her cause of death was unknown.

This week an inquest ruled that the singer died accidentally, adding that she drowned in a bath due to alcohol intoxication.

Following the inquest, on what would have been the singer’s 47th birthday, her bandmates released a tribute to the star.

“On January 15th 2018 we lost our dear friend and bandmate Dolores O’Riordan. Today we continue to come to terms with what happened,” they said.

“We request, please, for privacy at this time.”
