Conor McGregor “blown away” by The Late Late Show’s Ian O’Connell following chance encounter

Conor McGregor has shared a touching message of support for Co.Kerry fan Ian O’Connell, as the pair bumped into each other at a fight event last night.

Ian, who appeared on The Late Late Show on Friday night, suffered a spinal injury that left him paralysed from the neck down at just 16 years of age.

The whole country was touched by Ian’s positive attitude, including it seems, UFC legend Conor McGregor.

The Notorious shared an emotional Instagram post after meeting Ian last night, saying he was an inspiration to him and the rest of Ireland.

“Watching the Late Late show last night and on comes this young man,” Conor shared along with pictures of the two together.

“I was blown away by him and his attitude to life and in facing adversity! Truly blown away!

“Then tonight, by complete chance, I bumped into him at an event and end up getting to watch the main event fight ringside with him!  What a night!

“Thank you Ian it was great to meet you my brother, you are some man!  Your quote literally blew me away! “If you can’t stand up, STAND OUT!” What a legend!

“I think I speak for every Irish man and woman that watched you on the Late Late show last night by saying you are a true inspiration to us! Thank you brother.

Ian also shared a picture with the MMA champion, simply titled “My dream has finally come true.”
