Baz Ashmawy has fears that US President Donald Trump will ban him from entering America, because of where he was born.

Although it hasn’t been passed yet, the president is currently in the process of bringing in his controversial travel ban, prohibiting people from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.

The 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy star was born to an Egyptian father and Irish mother in Tripoli in Libya, which is one of the countries on Trump’s list.

Speaking on Today FM earlier, Baz joked about the situation but is genuinely unsure if he will be allowed enter the country anytime soon.

“America has me so confused at the moment. I was born in Libya, so, can I go, can I not go?

“It’s like some funny jig I’m doing at the moment. I don’t know what the story is.

“I was born in Libya of an Egyptian father, my passport has my name, Ahmed Bacyl Ashmawy, which is a red flag.

“I hold dual nationality but not two passports. It’s like Russian roulette. I just want to go and just see what happens,” he said.

We hope the situation is cleared up soon.
