Aoibhin Garrihy has shared her delight as husband John Burke successfully summits Mount Everest.
The actress, who trekked with John to base camp, got the fantastic news this morning that her hubby became the first Clare man to reach the peak.
“So, so proud of him and now hoping for a safe descent,” said Aoibhin.
John took on the mission in a bid to raise money for his charity, Elevate, which focuses on promoting youth wellness in Clare, and around Ireland.
Meanwhile, Aoibhin’s two sisters Doireann and Ailbhe are also doing their bit to raise money for the charity, by taking part in the VHI mini marathon.
The women are trying to raise €2,500 for the charity, and any donations can be made here.
