Aoibhin Garrihy has defended her decision to hike to the top of Carrauntoohil in Co. Kerry yesterday, at seven months pregnant.
The former Dancing With The Stars Ireland contestant is expecting her first child with husband John Burke this summer, and has been keeping up with her active lifestyle.
Aoibhin posted a picture at the top of the Kerry mountain, having hiked up with John who only last year successfully summited Mt Everest, when a follower commented “So irresponsibly silly wow.”
The-30-year-old however, responded to the comment, saying she felt safe and comfortable while taking in the tough walk.
“I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with you Avril. As my husband is an experienced climber, safety has always been paramount for us,” she responded to the comment under her post.
“Everyone’s body and capabilities are different especially during pregnancy but on a fine day with no wind and great support I took my time and to be honest I can’t think of a nicer way to spend the day…7 months pregnant! #pregnantnotpowerless”
