Anna Daly has opened up about the realities of returning to work after having a baby.

The seasoned presenter and husband Ben Ward welcomed their third child into the world last November, and this week marked Anna’s first week back at TV3 after six months of maternity leave.

Although the model, who is already mum to 5-year-old James and 3-year-old Euan, acknowledges that it’s scary returning to the work place after giving birth, she’s looking forward to returning to her normal work schedule.

Writing in her column for Evoke.ie, the mum-of-three advises new working mums on returning to work and assures them that going back isn’t as scary as it seems.

“I’m writing this because I’m guessing there’s plenty of you currently on maternity leave and if you have the fear about going back, rest assured you’re not alone.” she writes.

“I returned to work this week and within minutes it felt normal and I was chuffed to be back.

“I acknowledge I’m lucky to have a job that I love, a team that I genuinely enjoy being around and a show that I’m completely invested in but still, let me be the one to tell you that it’ll all be OK!

“So, my one piece of advice is to go easy on yourself. You’ll be delighted with yourself and that glass of chardonnay at the end of the first week back will taste better than ever!”

Tune into TV3 this morning to see Anna reprise her presenting role on Saturday AM.
