A Monopoly hotline has been set up this year to deal with Christmas family board game arguments. We all know how heated Monopoly can get when you’ve had a few glasses of bubbly and you’ve just gone bankrupt- things escalate quickly.

Following the results of a survey, which found that over 50% of Monopoly games end in a row, a hotline will be launched this Christmas to mediate festive fights.

Running between the 24th and the 26th of December, Marketing Director of Hasbro UK and Ireland Craig Wilkins hopes that the hotline will diffuse any arguments and provide advice on how to keep the peace while playing.

“We’ll have experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advice on how to resolve common complaints, with each person also having the opportunity to make a donation to Childline when they call,” he said.

Some of the top Monopoly arguments are caused by: people making up their own rules, people stealing from the bank, and people not knowing what the rules of free parking are.
